There is evidence that plastic surgery has been around for more than 4,000 years, however war brought about the rise in procedures in the late 1800s and 1900s. The awful injuries inflicted on soldiers prompted the developments of reconstruction surgery. Plastic surgery soon developed as a beauty procedure. Women were, and still are, attracted by the prospects of changing the contours of the face, receiving face lifts, and changing their nose shape. However, as seen below, many people argue that beauty comes naturally and that surgery is not the only solution.

However, before deciding to go under the knife, women must know the benefits of massaging their faces to relieve wrinkles and preserve the firm contours of the face. Also, a lot of it has to do with changing one’s current thoughts. Negative thoughts can cause sagging and stress wrinkles that can age one’s skin.

When she plays the role as an old hag on stage, Kerby imagines all of the devastating things that can happen to a woman to make her appear as ugly. She concluded that if she can work herself into a state of physical repulsiveness, than she can do the reverse.
