This article, featured in December 7, 1908 The Star and Newark Advertiser. includes a child’s letter to the editor. The child mentioned items that she and her brother want for Christmas, in the hope that Santa Claus may deliver it to them. However, when she asked her mother about Santa Claus, she mentioned that Santa Claus may not give her what she wants this year. She asked the editor whether Santa Claus exists, and if so, would he receive her letter. The editor responded to her, saying that there is a Santa Claus, and if he missed her in the past, it is because he is trying to provide presents to many children in the world. He gives to both rich and poor children. If he was able to locate all the poor children, then he would be happy to grant their wishes this Christmas.
