50,000+ Pages and Going Strong

Recently Chronicling America added more issues of the Perth Amboy Evening News to their site. With this latest inclusion, 50,207 pages of this newspaper are now freely available online. They include issues from March 30, 1903 through June 29, 1918. We expect this newspaper’s remaining issues (up through December 30, 1922) to go live in the coming weeks. They will be followed by the Jersey City News, the next title being digitized as part of the project.

The National Digital Newspaper Program is funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and is a collaboration among Rutgers University Libraries, the New Jersey State Archives, and the New Jersey State Library.
